October School Holidays 2009 @ AIE Sydney

AIE is pleased to offer a range of courses over the October 2009 school holiday period. All students who participate in a short course will receive a certificate of completion along with a copy of the work produced in class on CD-ROM/DVD.

The two-day courses cost $220 each. If you book two or more of the two-day courses, you will receive a 10% discount off the total price. Get together with your friends and save!

  • Courses start at 9am and finish at 5pm

Courses for 10 – 14 year olds

Create your own Castle or Fearsome Fortress

Design and build a fantasy castle or fearsome fortress of your imagination using 3D software.  Students will earn about 3D modelling, texturing, rendering and animation to create a short animation. This two-day course is suitable for all students from complete beginners to those with experience in 3D animation.
9am – 5pm, 6th & 7th October


2D Game Arcade using GameMaker

This is your chance to design and build your very own 2D game and absolutely no programming knowledge is required. Learn how to make cool 'old school' arcade style games - students will integrate their own 2D game art, code, sound effects and user interface.  Everyone who participates will make their own game to take home.

Courses for 15 – 18 year olds

Claymation!

Learn about stop-motion animation used to create movies like Mary & Max, Coraline and Wallace & Grommet. Students will design and create their own clay characters and creatures, produce a number of short animations and collaborate on a short film. All students work created over the course will be given to each student on DVD.

Courses for 16 year olds +

3D Animation Foundations

This course is the first week of the Certificate II in Creative Industries (Media). During this week, students will develop knowledge and skills in Maya, the industry standard 3D animation software tool. During this week they will learn about modelling, texturing, animation, rendering and lighting through the development of a 3D environment and character. For more information visit this page.

Game Programming Foundations

This course is the first week of the Certificate II in Information Technology course. During this week, students will develop game programming knowledge and skills using the C# programming language. Students will develop two PC or xbox360 games. For more information visit this page.
